Description

Slabbed and declared "Authentic" by PSA/DNA, the offered check from Ruth's personal account is dual-signed by the legendary Yankee, with his blue-ink, steel-tip fountain pen signature projecting ("8-9") strength and clarity on both the front (slight smudge on surname) and reverse. In a departure from his familiar "Babe" pennings, Ruth has signed "GH Ruth," in both spots, honoring his financial obligation in an "official" manner. Dated "Aug. 9, 1945," the check number "420" is drawn from Manhattan’s "Chase National Bank" and made payable to "CASH" in the amount of "$50.00." The check shows normal cancellation stampings and hole punching; none of which impinge Ruth's bold signatures. Additional full photo LOA from JSA.
