Description

His likeness the most famous and widely sought among cardboard collectors, Honus Wagner is appealing in the circles of autograph enthusiasts, as well. A member of the inaugural Hall of Fame class and a Pittsburgh fixture in both his celebrated playing days and 39-year capacity as a mentor, Wagner autographed this baseball in the latter role. The off-white ONL Frick sphere showcases a clean surface and prominent trademark stampings that date to 1947-1948. Executed in blue ballpoint on the sweet spot, Wagner’s penning projects every bit of (“8”) strength and clarity. For the sake of accuracy, we note that additional signatures have been removed from this keepsake, but expertly so, giving this heirloom the appearance of a single-signed orb. Full photo LOA from JSA. This item has a reserve (estimated value: $1200-$2500)
