Long before Baltimore re-joined the ranks as a Major League city, the International League franchise met with unparalleled success and laid the groundwork for big league inclusion. These (4) Baltimore Orioles payroll checks were issued during the 1930s. Each is encapsulated with signatures assessed “Authentic” by PSA/DNA. Included are (2) 1931 vouchers signed by International League and team president Charles Knapp and (2) 1939 checks signed by team executives John M. Ogden and Charles H. Knapp, Jr..
While the executives listed in our catalog description have signed the appropriate line on the obverse, the May 15, 1931 check was made out to and endorsed (on the reverse) by Harry Smythe.
