Description

Ranked as one of the top five minor league squads of all-time, the 1921 Baltimore Orioles punished their competition by posting a 119-47 record and winning the International League by a whopping 20 games. However, the star-studded Orioles and Toronto Maple Leafs were on equal footing when the offered 1921 opening day panoramic was shot. Measuring 51 x 9-1/2, this magnificent black-and-white photograph pictures the lineups for each squad. Most notably, the youthful image of Lefty Grove(s) is instantly recognizable on the far left of the visiting Orioles team. Period Coca-Cola advertising, a packed grandstand and the manual scoreboard adds to the overall presentation. High-grade museum quality piece with very minor perimeter wear and limited age-induced reverse foxing.
