Earning the only World Series triumph for the City of Washington, the 1924 Senators overcame the mighty New York Giants who were making their unprecedented fourth straight WS appearance. Commemorate this historic Series with this 1924 WS program issued by the New York Giants at the Polo Grounds. Though the cover is detached and separated this classic publication presents desirable (GD-VG) details with deference to writing on the border only of the front cover. Also present is a 1939 postmarked Polo Grounds postcard (GD). More on our website.
The writing on the front cover’s top and right side border takes the form of a personalized presentation note which does not cross into the field area. Front cover photos are opposing managers John McGraw making his final WS appearance and “Bucky” Harris making his first WS appearance. Harris was also named player-manager in 1924 at the age of twenty-seven making him the youngest manager in the majors. Two excellent team portrait pages grace the interior and the scorecard sections are not scored.
