Just imagine the excitement of attending the 1939 World's Fair—and then the sheer bliss of encountering none other than the great Bambino...plus obtaining his John Hancock. Measuring 11x16 when fully opened, this is a Woolworth's-sponsored map of the fairgrounds and public transportation system. Ruth's signature on the Trylon (of Trylon and Perisphere icons—here providing the backdrop for the Woolworth Building and Woolworth's storefront) rates "6" strength. Aside from an isolated tear on the back panel (nowhere near the signature), condition is VG overall with a horizontal pocket fold. Accompanied by an unsigned 1939 "Views of the New York World's Fair" booklet (8-1/2 x 11-1/2", EX) produced by the Grinnell Lithographic Co. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
