America had presumably seen it all when the New York Jets began 1969 with a stunning upset in Super Bowl III. But 10 months later, the Mets outdid their Big Apple counterparts by disposing of the mighty Orioles after having never finished higher than ninth place in their previous seven seasons of existence! This salesman’s sample ring was crafted for young fireballer Nolan Ryan for his contributions to that unlikely conquest. The Jostens 10-karat gold size “10” accessory features a blue stone on which a simulated diamond is centered and “New York Mets World Champions 1969” surrounds in raised characters. On the left shank, the team’s skyline-themed logo is accented by a scroll with a “RYAN” engraving. The right shank features a Shea Stadium relief design and banners with engravings respectively reading “Eastern Division,” “National League,” “World Series” and “Mets vs. Orioles.” Gorgeous!
