Description

Already exceeding the life expectancy of a quarterback in the rugged NFL, 32-year-old Brett Favre was only halfway home in 2001. As he extended his consecutive starts streak to 157 games and added 314 completions to a ledger that would top out at 6,300, Favre wore and autographed this Green Bay Packers helmet. A Sunday treasure for Hall of Fame and “Cheesehead” collectors, alike, this battle-tested gridiron relic ranks among the most glorious gamers extant. The yellow plastic shell features the team’s time-honored “G” logo decals adhered to each side, an American flag decal (in the wake of the 9-11 attacks), an NFL logo badge decal and a stenciled “PACKERS” snubber at the back. At the front, a “Riddell” snubber is displayed atop a four-bar face mask. On the right side, Favre has signed in black marker (“8” strength) and inscribed “4 – 2001 Season.” The shell’s interior is home to pad cells affixed to the crown by Velcro strips. Manufacturer’s “Warning” stickers are adhered to the interior sides, while a black marker notation of “4” appears on the right-side interior (both jaw pads are missing). The item shows solid game use with scattered scuff marks throughout! Accompanying is an LOA signed by Favre, as well as “Authentic Brett Favre” holograms and a photo of Favre holding this very helmet.
