Above all, what separates these Williams images from those typically seen is their intimacy. They depict quiet moments, often in the dugout, locker-room and front office, as well as in cars or a hospital room, not to mention with fans at locales like an airport and a charity event. The 4x5 negatives exhibit tremendous image quality and remain in their original envelopes with typewritten captions. A 5/30/50 shot at Comiskey Park is captioned, "Williams-Ted...reading his column in Sun Times." A 1953 example reads, "Shown in Automobile En Route to Santa Maria Hospital...Shoulder in Sling." Included as well are cameos by Tom Yawkey (4), Joe Cronin (2), Eddie Collins, Bobby Doerr, Norm Zauchin, Johnny Orlando (clubhouse manager) and Doris Soulet (first wife). NM condition overall except for one anomalous locker-room shot with heavy perimeter age wear.
NOTE: The images below the scans of the actual negatives are what the photos would look like should you properly expose the negatives. These images do not accompany the lot of negatives.
