As the Orioles transitioned to their status as a minor league club during the early twentieth century, Baltimore’s baseball thoughts returned to more celebrated times as the Birds dominated the “Gay Nineties”. Released a decade after their 1896 conquest, this 1907 “Champions of 96” real photo postcard depicts the Hall of Fame laden lineup in all of its splendor. Graded 10 Poor 1 by SGC, this dated 10/19/1907 correspondence is the lone copy judged by the grading service and has baseball content on the obverse. The postmark is to a Baltimore address.
