Description

1920s-1930s Star pitcher Willie "Bill" Foster was considered the cream of the crop while performing at a masterful level for a variety of Negro League teams. His mound mastery was finally recognized in 1996 with posthumous election to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Turn back the page to get a candid look at Foster with this original photograph. Accompanied by an LOA from his daughter-in-law Sarah Foster, this 4x3 photo reports in (GD-VG) condition with a distinct image and decent gloss. Foster is seen in street clothes in a rural setting, with a partially visible automobile at left that shows c.1930s-1940s styling. Overall moderate crazing is noted and though a crease spans the entire width, this photo remains attractive with period authentic appeal.
