Description



The first-ever player to win single-season home run crowns in both the American and National Leagues, Sam Crawford also holds one of the game’s most unapproachable standards: 309 career triples! These (2) items are autographed by the Hall of Famer nicknamed for his Wahoo, Nebraska birthplace. Includes:

 

Handwritten Signed Letter: a sheet of 8-1/2 x 14” legal paper, composed entirely in Crawford’s hand and dated “May 18 – 66,” the correspondence includes content regarding books and the Vietnam War. At the conclusion, Crawford (d.1968) has signed “Wahoo Sam” (“9-10” strength). Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.

 

Signed Index Card: a 5-1/2 x 4” lined index card, dated “Hollywood Cal - March 5 – 52” (entirely in Crawford’s hand), the piece is personalized and inscribed “With all good wishes.” At the conclusion, Crawford has signed “Samuel E Crawford – Wahoo Sam” in blue ink (“10” strength).
