While he earned acclaim during his Major League career as a reliable backstop and later, as a manager, Roger Bresnahan was affected during his post-career days by the stock market collapse of 1929. After subsequent endeavors as a hotel detective, a brewery salesman and political candidate, Bresnahan passed away in 1944 at the age of 65 – just months prior to his election into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Tough to acquire in any condition, this Bresnahan cut signature is among the boldest you’ll find and is certain to headline any Cooperstown autograph ensemble. Trimmed to just over four inches in length, the endorsement appears to complete a binding contract and is executed “Roger P Bresnahan” in black-ink steel tip fountain pen. The signature shows (“9”) potency and comes with a full photo LOA from JSA.
