The face of the Washington Senators and (appropriately) the winning pitcher of the decisive Game 7 in the 1924 World Series, Hall of Famer Walter Johnson (d.1946) was the compliant endorser of this vintage display. Unevenly trimmed to approximate dimensions of 6-1/2 x 4”, a 4”-long scrap of lined notebook paper is signed by Johnson in black-ink steel tip fountain pen and inscribed “Best Wishes.” The item is adhered to a baseball-themed scrap, which is in turn adhered to the aforementioned surface. While a small vertical tear near the lower edge has resulted in partial separation (between the birth name and surname), the autograph still maintains (“8”) potency and comes with a full photo LOA from JSA.
