One of the greatest Cuban baseball players of all time, Martin Dihigo is enshrined in five different Hall of Fame museums. A standout second baseman and pitcher in a variety of leagues from the 1920s-1950s, this diamond legend is recognized by the American, Cuban, Dominican, Mexican and Venezuelan Halls. Dihigo is seen here in a Havana Lions (Habana Leones) team photo that was part of his personal collection. Stamp date "3 Ene 1943" (January 3, 1943) on the reverse with a "Fotografia Novoa" credit, this 8x10 photo sees the Havana squad on the field in front of stands packed with fans. Several small holes are scattered across the lower half of the photo and there is a vertical compacting fold crease at center, however the image of Dihigo is unaffected and this ancient relic remains sturdy, in (GD) condition. Other stars of note are Cocaina Garcia, Julio Rojo, Rodolfo Fernandez, Carlos Blanco, Herberto Blanco, Gilberto Torres and manager Mike Gonzalez. Accompanying is a "Martin Dihigo Collection" COA signed by his son Gilberto Dihigo.
