Description

On the day that would live in infamy, the Giants' kickoff came soaring down to the ground just as bombs were falling on Pearl Harbor. The Polo Grounds public-address announcer soon paged one Col. William Donovan and asked him to contact Washington, D.C. Then word gradually trickled out among spectators, and players reportedly learned of the news at halftime. After the game (a 21-7 Dodgers win), it was announced that all service members should report to their unit. Thus, the pregame festivities honoring Giants star RB Tuffy Leemans were all but forgotten. We were now a country at war. Offered is the historic program, which features a great Leemans cover and interior photos including Owen, Hein and Parker. Measures 7x10 and rates EX.
