Description

Beginning with Franklin D. Roosevelt's first term as president in 1933, the District of Columbia has been issuing short term "Inaugural" license plates. A favorite among political buffs, these limited edition plates are in high demand with the older the better. Offered is a 1949 Inaugural plate from a reported issue of less than 2,000 such plates. This 12-1/2 x 6-1/8" steel license plate number "315" is painted in a red, white and blue color scheme, with an image of the Capitol Building dome at left and a shield crest at right. This nicely preserved piece shows minor wear, but remains highly pleasing in (EX) condition. Also included is a 2014 Ben Bernanke tribute baseball card (NM-MT) issued to Federal Reserve staff members at a reception held during the week Bernanke stepped down as FR Chairman.
