Like so many of his generation, Roger Bresnahan was knocked back on his heels by the stock market crash in 1929. At the time he signed this 3x5 card, Bresnahan had the stability of coaching for the Tigers, but shortly thereafter he went to work as a workhouse guard, then a manual laborer, and finally a salesman. Bresnahan died of a heart attack in 1944 at age 65. VG-EX condition with an "8" signature. Period career notations in an unidentified hand on reverse. Auction LOA from JSA.
