This was the high-water mark for the Providence Steam Roller franchise, as Jimmy Conzelman and company lost just one game en route to the NFL title. Interestingly, Providence holds the distinction of being the last now-defunct NFL team to win a championship. Also of significance, 1928 was the end of the line for the Pottsville Maroons, who migrated to Boston in 1929 and then folded. Despite boasting three future Hall of Famers (Johnny Blood, Pete Henry and Walt Kiesling), Pottsville fell to Providence 13-6. The program measures 6-1/4" x 9-1/2" and rates VG-EX.
