Master the bidding action to claim this original artwork page. The work of penciller Paul Gulacy and inker Dan Adkins, this 10-1/2 x 15-3/4" artwork sheet was created for page 2 of the November, 1974 #22 comic book issue of the "Master of Kung Fu". Featuring popular martial arts master "Shang-Chi", this table setting page sees the Kung Fu fighting hero seated at a New York restaurant. After perusing the menu and being served, Shang-Chi opens a fortune cookie which contains a warning message of an imminent assassination attempt.
Authenticity provenance is derived from a "Master of Kung Fu" stamp at top left on the obverse; and a copyright stamp on the reverse at bottom that includes the partially handwritten entries "1974" and "Vol. 1, Number 22, Nov. 1974 issue". Editorial notations are located at various points on the borders of the obverse and there are also pieces of tape or residue on the top and bottom edges. The artwork area remains clean and bold, and it is minimally affected by the described conditions. Published at the height of the 1970s martial arts craze, this original Bronze Age artwork should gain a big bump in value when the Marvel Cinematic Universe "Phase Four" feature film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" is released in May of 2021.
The photos below of the comic book cover and page 2 are provided as a viewing curtesy. Only the artwork sheet is being offered here and the comic book is not included.
