A clash of Hall of Fame titans is depicted with this original commissioned artwork. Framed to overall dimensions of 30x38, this vibrant canvas creation features Miami Dolphins linebacker Nick Buoniconti making a tackle on Washington Redskins quarterback Sonny Jurgenson. Two of the top players of their day, these NFL legends were starring for two of the best teams of the period at the time this one-of-a-kind painting was created circa 1972-1974. Graced with bold colors, a clean surface and dynamic styling, this vintage artwork takes the bidding field in very pleasing state, ready for immediate display in a frame that shows light to moderate wear, but remains serviceable. The artist Zeigler has signed at bottom right in block lettering. During the period of origin, the 'Skins and the 'Phins clashed in the 1972 preseason, Super Bowl VII and the 1974 regular season, and it's certainly worth noting that this was the era Miami turned in the NFL's only perfect season.
