Teamed as manager and player with the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants in the 1940s-1950s, "Leo the Lip" Durocher and Eddie "The Brat" Stanky enjoyed a cordial reunion in 1966 when they were hired as the managers of the Chicago Cubs and White Sox respectively. The association of these colorful baseball men led to one of Durocher's great quips, when he offered this scouting report of Stanky: "He can't hit, can't run, can't field. He's no nice guy, all the little SOB can do is win." A true classic in Sports Illustrated's long run, this 2/28/66 Vol. 24. #9 issue celebrates the Chicago reunion of these fine gentlemen, with a captivating cover photo captioned "The Lip and The Brat Invade Chicago". CGC has graded this top tier example (9.2), which puts it at the top of the Census report as "1/1", with none higher.
