One of the NFL's top coaches gets some well deserved respect with this autographed poster. Produced for the Tom Landry Appreciation Day and Parade on 4/22/89, this poster features a generously sized photo of the man himself, dressed for game day right up to his trademark fedora. When the expansion Dallas Cowboys joined the NFL in 1960, Landry was the team's first head coach. He held this position until 1989, when he was coldly cut loose from his job by new owner Jerry Jones with no discussion whatsoever, creating major animosity with fans.
Landry's admirers were many and this "Hats off to Tom Landry" poster was part of the tremendous outpouring of support for the longtime Cowboys coach following his firing. Measuring 20x30, this vintage poster has light to moderate wear on the perimeter, but remains crisp and clean with nice gloss and distinct graphics. Landry (HOF, d.2000) has signed with ("9") potency, by means of a felt-tip pen in metallic silver ink. Full Photo LOA from JSA.
