Description

"Pleased as usual to have yours of the 26th," writes the elder Mackman. "Am returning the picture signed as you directed. Mrs. Mack will be unable as well as myself to visit you at Lake Placid Club this winter. Am in hopes that you are enjoying good health and hope you have a nice winter. Looks now like we will be unable to make any changes in our club this coming year - will be necessary to go along with all our regulars as it don't seem as any of the clubs want to make trades unless they get more than they desire for their players. Very kind wishes."

The 7x8 visible area is apparent EX with typical mailing folds as well as erased penciling in the upper-left corner. There is some smudging in the salutation and "Connie" signature; otherwise, the handwriting features robust "9-10" strength. Ornately triple-matted and framed, along with a portrait image and plaque, to overall 25x28 dimensions. Auction LOA from JSA.

Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage.
