When you're the New York Yankees, impact players are a given. It's been that way for a hundred years and probably will be for another hundred. Along with the 1927 and 1961 teams, the 1998 unit ranks as one of the greatest teams ever. Fielding way more than a fair share of impact players, this team's successful run to the franchise's 24th World Series championship was fueled by six pitchers with double digit wins and ten position players with double digit home run totals. Did any manager ever have an easier job than Joe Torre?
Make this power packed team yours, at least in miniature, with this 1998 The New York Yankees figure set display. Issued in 1999 by the Danbury Mint, this spectacular set of (10) realistic statues reports in like-new condition, housed in its original factory box. A total of (10) 6" tall figures stand atop a 28" x 3-1/2" wood base, that rounds out to 6" at the left end, where manager Torre resides. The players are from left to right: Chuck Knoblauch, Derek Jeter, Paul O'Neill, Darryl Strawberry, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez, Scott Brosius, Jorge Posada and David Wells.
