"Go Hoyas!", with this c.1940s-1950s Georgetown University large felt banner. Founded by Jesuits in 1789, Georgetown is the oldest Catholic university in the United States. Sometime around the 1870s, the Washington-based school began fielding baseball and football teams. In the early 1900s, the Georgetown Hoyas basketball team came into being and over the years it has enjoyed great success, becoming the school's main sport. Uphold the proud tradition of this Big East conference member, with this 34x16 white-on-blue banner. Georgetown lettering arches above the school's elaborate seal, located at center, with the founding date below. Securely attached accent strips rim the perimeter and with deference to three light vertical folds, this vintage herald reports in (EX-MT+) condition.
