As fertile a breeding ground for football stars as is known to the world, Brazil has birthed many all-time greats. One of those greats is represented here, with this "Zico" match worn Flamengo jersey. Formally known as Arthur Antunes Coimbra, this living legend is still active as a coach, now celebrating his 50th year in the game. An attacking midfielder during his playing days with several teams including the Brazil National Team, Zico did two stints with the Flamengo Club, from 1971-1983 and 1985-1989. The offered jersey dates to his latter Flamengo period, c.1987. An Adidas factory label is sewn inside the collar and the front bears the Adidas and Flamengo logos. This red and black short-sleeve jersey shows extensive authentic wear, including holes on the collar, a threadbare run on the front and cracks on the white logo appliques, the "Lubrax" lettering and the uniform number "10" on the back, making for fantastic display appeal.
Accompanying is an COA signed by Maria Auxiliadora Garcia Reis Castro Decaro, sister of Afonso Celso Garcia Reis, a Brazilian professional footballer better known as "Afonsinho". Printed in Portuguese language, this COA states that this jersey was a gift from Zico to Afonsinho for his personal collection. Also included are photocopies of Maria's and Afonso's identification cards.
