"Next Year" at long last! After Elston Howard grounded out to Pee Wee Reese, it was battery mate Roy Campanella and Jackie Robinson's replacement Don Hoak who converged on winning pitcher (and first-ever World Series MVP) Johnny Podres for the iconic celebration scene. Indeed, this very image by New York Times photographer Ernie Sisto was not only published in the next day's newspaper, but it was also used to represent Podres' entire playing career in his 2008 Times obituary. The 8x10 photo shows routine minor peripheral newsroom wear.
