"I just want to play baseball," Ed Bouchee said upon his return to action after being arrested for exposing himself to young children in 1958. "I understand my problem and that means a lot." The talented first baseman was runner-up for Rookie of the Year honors in 1957, and almost cracked the Top 10 in MVP voting. Then came the legal troubles and psychiatric treatment that derailed his promising career. (Click here for more info.) Offered is a large-format version of the kind of Jacobellis portrait that we have sold as 4x5 contact proofs, with similarly impeccable image clarity and contrast. A cropped, colorized version of the Polo Grounds shot was used for Bouchee's 1957 Topps rookie card. Light general newsroom wear.
