At first a move to Washington for the 2006 season did not agree with Alfonso Soriano, when Nationals manager Frank Robinson penciled him in at left field. A career second baseman up to that point, Soriano refused to man the position. After being informed of contract complications and loss of service time towards free agency, Soriano relented and took to left field, like a fish to water. He made 22 assists from left, hit a career high 46 homers and became baseball's first "40-40-40" man, by also totaling 41 doubles and 41 stolen bases. Recall this spectacular season with this Soriano game-worn 2006 Washington Nationals jersey. Labeled Majestic size "46" on the front left tail, this bright white jersey reports in outstanding condition with scant traces of wear. Highlighted with metallic gold thread, the various patches almost look like something a super-hero would wear, and Soriano came close to being just that during his single season in D.C.
