Elect the offered Andrew Jackson signed and framed display. As the 7th man to hold office as President of the United States, Jackson (d.1845) presided over the Nation from 1829-1837, following terms as both a Senator and Congressman from Tennessee, the first Territorial Governor of Florida and a Major General in the U.S. Army. Framed to overall dimensions of 23x28, this high-powered Jackson ensemble contains (3) signatures (one authentic, one printed and one secretarial) and (2) 19th Century book page engravings.
The larger of the (2) pieces is a 16x9 Presidential Land Grant dated "9/15/1835". This antique vellum document assigns eighty acres in the Michigan Territory to "Cornelius Foster". With deference to a small hole at one of the junctions of the original period compacting folds, this sturdy grant remains appealing with bold printed and written content. The Jackson signature is secretarial.
Completing this display is a 1-1/4 x 8" cut signature ("6") and the (2) engraving images in pleasing condition, with a "Johnson, Wilson & Co." portrait dated "1873" and an undated "A.H. Ritchie" portrait of Jackson in military uniform (one printed signature). Full photo LOA from JSA.
