Description

Nothing says "man-cave" like a beer advertising display and nothing goes better with beer than baseball. Satisfy your thirst for collectibles with this 1950s Blatz Beer "Safe At Home" bar top figural display. This unique brand promoter from Milwaukee brewer Blatz brings beer and baseball together in a delightful way with three figures standing atop a textured base. On the left is a "tall boy" beer bottle catcher stretching for the ball, at center is a beer barrel umpire with handlebar mustache signaling safe and at right is a sliding beer can runner kicking up a mighty cloud of dust as he crosses the totally obscured plate. Measuring 17" at the highest point on a 9x9 base, this solid piece stands in admirable condition with a strong degree of original paint and light to moderate wear and soiling noted. Behind the trio of beer buds are two pennants that must be original issues judging by considerable but not catastrophic wear, including a break on the taller of the two poles, cracks on the pennants near the pole and heavy fading of the graphics on the curved pennant. All things considered, this piece shows great period authenticity and abundant display appeal.
