Go long for this exciting 1910-1911 Murad T6 College Series Type 1 complete set of (25). Issued on a mail-in redemption basis, this set is rarely offered as complete. Single cards are scarce but available and may have been offered as early as 1909, however they could not have been ordered after 6/30/1911, as this date is printed on the reverse as the deadline for redemption. Modern day survivors from this ancient series are highly prized in pleasing state and this full set hits the mark for quality repeatedly. Sized at 5x8, these antique cabinet cards range as (80% VG to VG-EX, 20% lesser).
Highlights are: #7 Fordham baseball (minor surface loss and adhesive residue stains on the reverse only), #8 Harvard football presents VG details with deference to a pinhole on the top edge, #10 Penn State baseball (VG-EX), #12 Rochester ice hockey (VG), #18 Michigan football (VG) and #24 Williams College basketball (VG+) noted as "the first basketball card". Readily identified as "Type 1" cards by the "Serif" style card numbers printed at top on the backs, this Type 1 set is complemented in this current H&S auction by another listing for a complete T6 "Type 2" near-set of (24/25), seen in our "Non-Sport Trading Cards/Sets & Near Sets" category.
