Nearly 200 years after the publication of Last of the Mohicans, James Fenimore Cooper's masterwork has stood the test of time. Cooper is regarded as one of the first American writers to achieve world renown during his lifetime and then to have staying power up to the current day. Here, Cooper's elegant "8"-strength salutation and signature read, "I am, sir, very respectfully / Your Servant / J. Fenimore Cooper." The visible area of 3" x 1-5/8" is VG with vertical folds/creases. Matted and framed, along with a 4-1/2" x 6" portrait engraving, to overall dimensions of 7-1/4" x 15" (some frame wear).

Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage.
